Highways and Roads
We consulted and built many of West Africa most-traveled highways and interchanges. Along the way, we have established strong relationships with key industry players, including owners, consultants and specialists allowing us to deliver the highest quality of products and solve to most difficult situations that can be presented through the course of a project.
Interchanges
Highway and interchange projects are complex, requiring knowledge and experience in diverse fields. Environmental and geographical conditions must be assessed, utility installation (water main, storm and sanitary sewers) must be stringently planned and specifications must be precise.
We use only the best construction materials (cement, concrete and aggregates), which are sourced from our sister companies. No matter the challenges, we are fully committed to meeting tight deadlines within budget, and in the safest manner possible.
Tunnels
Building tunnels is a challenge that Qalataran Synergy Corp can take on.
Qalataran Synergy Corp was a very important partner in the constructions of the 10.4 kilometer tunnel below Niagara Falls. This included, blasting out and excavating a 43-meter deep, 450-meter long outlet cut where the water now comes out from flowing through the tunnel. We were involved in blasting out and excavating the inlet near the Falls, building the accelerator and a cofferdam around the inlet to keep it dry for the construction process. This was a very technical project to which Dufferin Qalataran Synergy Corp was fully committed and succeeded in getting the job done.
Airports
We have played a significant role in the construction of airports from Ontario to Western Africa. As a result of our specialized expertise developed over many decades, we have earned recognition as one of the most trusted airfield contractors in West Africa. As a testament to our leadership, we were recently selected to construct the largest concrete-paved runway in Nigeria.
To deliver the highest quality in our airport projects, we work closely with owners and designers. We use our own state-of-the-art equipment and typically utilize raw materials supplied by our sister companies, each a leader in its field.
Marine
We have a long history of working in, around, over, and under major waterways. From playing a major consultancy role in reconstructing the aging infrastructure of the St. Lawrence Seaway to being part of the team that built the largest hard rock tunnel in the world connecting the Niagara River to the Sir Adam Beck Generating Stations, we have the capability to undertake all marine construction challenges.
Through the use of internal and external resources, we have developed various construction methods to suit each unique marine application. Marine construction can present many challenges, including but not limited to vessels navigating the waterways, ice flows, protection of aquatic life and seasonal operating restrictions. We have a proven track record of completing large marine projects in tight timelines, all the while being sensitive to a multitude of environmental restrictions.
Municipal
From watermain to sewer and sanitary installation, force mains, roadworks, curb, sidewalk and everything in between, no municipal project is too big or too small for us to execute to our customers’ satisfaction.
Our capabilities range from the early stages of grading excavation and sewers to accommodate new rail track, to the forming and pouring of structural concrete. Our previous projects have included bridge widening, erection of large structural steel girders, rehabilitation of existing steel girders, excavation of rail/road separation and the supply and installation of 4-, 6- and 8-track signal structures.
Rail
Our company has played a significant role in the construction of some of West Africa’s most relied-upon railway & transit systems. With vertically-integrated construction services and many years of experience working along rail corridors, we are the most logical choice for the management of rail and transit projects.
We were consultants in the recently won coveted bid to build the Air Rail Link for Metrolinx, which will provide rail service every 15 minutes between downtown Toronto and Pearson International Airport. Whether for project management, rehabilitation or scheduling, we have the certified knowledge and expertise to lead and execute rail and transit projects.
Commercial/Industrial
Our experience spans all segments of the construction market, including commercial, institutional and industrial. We manage all facets of civil construction from environmental protection, earthworks and site servicing to road and parking lot construction and exterior concrete paving. With thorough knowledge of provincial building codes, applicable regulations and zoning by-laws, we possess all the credentials and designations required to plan and execute building projects of all sizes.
Environmental Rehabilitation
Committed to the highest standards of environmental protection, we have the expertise to restore former industrial sites to new uses. Our work includes the sectioning, testing and excavation of waste – hazardous and nonhazardous – and its disposal at licensed landfills approved by the Ministry of the Environment. Our customers can rest assured that their site will be re-mediated to meet desired standards and that we will take all necessary precautions to protect the environmental integrity of the areas surrounding the work site.
We have completed many site remediation projects, usually as part of integrated site development contracts.
Landfills
We have extensive experience working in landfills. From excavation to restoration works in sensitive areas and other challenges, we have a demonstrated ability to work with owners, designers and other stakeholders to achieve the desired outcome.
We have constructed landfill sites throughout Southern Ontario, with most of them exceeding Ministry of the Environment standards. As a result of our stringent attention to small details during construction, these landfills are able to safely accept both hazardous and nonhazardous waste.
Residential
We have participated in the development of some of Southern Ontario’s best-known residential communities. Working strategically with land development partners, we provide a complete site servicing package, covering the full scope of work from project inception to final completion.
Our full range of diversified construction services include site preparation, environmental protection, excavation & earth works, watermain & sewer installation and road construction. Our ability to source the highest quality cement, concrete and aggregate from sister companies helps us ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Aggregate Recycling
Through our commitment to the three Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle – we and our customers make beneficial use of hundreds of thousands of tonnes of concrete and asphalt rubble every year. By managing concrete and asphalt rubble on our construction sites and using our construction yards as recycling depots, we have achieved a leading position as a producer of quality recycled granulars. These products meet all environmental standards and are used as approved road base on compliance and regulations of municipal projects or sold to other construction contractors. In addition, our hot mix asphalt plants use recycled asphalt aggregates for a portion of their needs, reducing the consumption of virgin materials.
Concrete Paving
